A God Encounter

Today it was just a little whisper, but an important reminder that we, as His body, are meant to care for one another.

He said to me, “Be thankful for each child of God who comes into your life.  They are there to bless you or you to bless them.  Whether you are the giver or the receiver, God in Heaven is glorified. Love shines bright in the darkness and My Church, My Body, is strengthened on the earth. So always support and encourage all those I send into your life.  Be good to each other.  You need each other.”

I took this to mean that I should be looking for ways to bless my fellow believers and also be open to receive. This week someone unexpectedly wanted to pay my bill.  I did not know this person, so I argued, “No, I can’t let you do that!”  She insisted that she wanted to do it and that all she wanted was that I “pay it forward.”  It was then I realized that God was in this moment.

She was instructed to give and I was instructed to receive and God was glorified through this transaction.  I thanked her for blessing me and promised I would definitely “pay it forward.”  We both went our separate ways knowing we had experienced a “God encounter” which never fails to bring joy.

We all have struggles to overcome. Kind words and actions offered in love can soothe where it hurts and give us courage to face, in faith, whatever comes our way.

Meditate and receive into your heart:

Colossians 3:12 (NLT)   Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.

Ephesians 5:20-21 (TPT)  Always give thanks to Father God for every person he brings into your life in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  And out of your reverence for Christ be supportive of each other in love.
