Be Beautiful!

As I sought the Lord for inspiration this morning, I heard Him whisper, “Teach beauty.”

My thoughts ran to when I actually used to teach about beauty, as a skincare and make-up consultant.  It was my way of getting to be a stay-at-home mom when my kids were little.

I could create smokey eyes, fiery lips and perfectly blended cheekbones.  As exciting and fun as that sounds, I knew this was not what the Lord was referring to.  He was speaking to me of inner beauty not the external layers that we add on.  I find that the older I get, the more important inner beauty becomes. The truth is, when God looks at us, we are already beautiful.

Way before we ever cleanse and exfoliate, (aka: ask forgiveness and clean-up our act), He already loves us.  He already wants us.  He already gave His Son to die for us so that we could be with Him for eternity in Heaven.

When we accept this truth of His love for us, when we believe that Jesus really did die for us, something beautiful happens.  God comes to reside inside of us through His Holy Spirit.  We have a direct internal connection to the God of the Universe—our loving Father.

There is nothing more beautiful than a surrendered heart.  His light comes into us and shines forth from us. We glow! His light within us, is true and lasting beauty at any age.

Meditate and receive into your heart:

John 3:16 (ESV)  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

Romans 5:8 (ESV)  But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9-10 (ESV)  If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
